Memorial Program

Step 1: Donors will need to first submit this Application Form, in person or by email, to:

Step 2: A District representative will be in touch within a week to schedule a meeting to review the application and discuss the process in detail.

Step 3: Depending on the type of donation, a follow-up meeting may be necessary to determine:

• Locations
• Plaque details and wording
• Planting/installation schedules

Step 4: Once all details have been finalized, donors will be asked to provide, in person or by mail, a cheque for the donation amount to:

Step 5: Once payment has been received, the District will begin making arrangements for plaque ordering and installation. Staff will maintain contact with applicant throughout the process and provide updates as we progress to installation.

• Memorial program fees include tree/bench and planting/installation costs.
• Donors may choose a park/street location (subject to District approval).
• Donors may choose a species for tree donations (subject to District approval).
• Benches and trees remain District property.
• The District cannot guarantee against damage caused to benches/trees by vandalism or acts of nature.
• The District cannot guarantee tree health against vandalism or acts of nature (e.g. winter storms, insect damage, decay, damaged branches).
• The District is not responsible for replacing trees that do not survive.

Income tax receipts can be issued for all donations.

Please note the name on the tax receipt issued at the end of the year must match whoever paid for the donation (verification required).

Upon payment, you will need to submit a tax form to receive a receipt.
