The District of Mackenzie is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Animal Control Person for the Bylaw/Animal Control department.
This position responds to complaints dealing with stray and loose animals, captures these animals and delivers them to the pound as well as the care and feeding of animals held or boarded at the pound. This position is responsible for the professional, courteous enforcement of the District of Mackenzie Animal Control. The Animal Control Officer patrols the areas within the District 's boundaries.
The successful candidate will possess proven tactful and effective customer service skills in dealing with the public and must be comfortable working with animals. The successful candidate will have completed Grade 12 or equivalent, be 19 years of age or older, and possess a valid Class 5 BC Drivers License. Basic computer skills and a reasonable knowledge of the principals, methods and equipment used in the care and handling of injured, vicious and stray animals will be an asset.
This is a unionized position within the CUPE 3706 Bargaining Unit, offering an hourly wage of $26.21.
