Feedback on Draft Active Transportation Master Plan

The District of Mackenzie is excited to announce the release of its Draft Active Transportation Master Plan and is inviting community members to provide their valuable feedback. This plan represents a significant step towards improving and expanding our active transportation network, including walking, cycling, and other forms of human-powered transportation.

About the Plan

The Draft Active Transportation Master Plan outlines strategies to enhance the safety, connectivity, and accessibility of Mackenzie’s active transportation routes. Key components of the plan include:

  • Developing new bike lanes and pedestrian pathways.
  • Improving existing infrastructure to ensure it meets the needs of all users, including those with disabilities.
  • Creating safe routes for children to walk or bike to school.
  • Enhancing connectivity between neighborhoods, parks, and key community destinations.
  • Creating social and recreational hubs in Mackenzie

Community Engagement and Feedback

The development of this plan has been guided by community input collected through surveys, public meetings, and workshops. Now, we are seeking further feedback to refine the plan and ensure it reflects the needs and aspirations of our residents.

We value the input of our community members and believe their feedback is essential in creating a transportation network that serves everyone in Mackenzie. This is an opportunity for residents to share their thoughts and help shape the future of active transportation in our town.
