Volunteer Firefighter Applications Now Open

Mackenzie Fire Rescue will be accepting applications for volunteer firefighters from August 1, 2026 to September 20, 2026, with recruit training expected to begin in late September.

If you’re looking for a way to serve your community, learn valuable skills, work as part of a team, and take on a rewarding new challenge, we’d like to hear from you.

Applicants must:

• Be 19 years of age or older;
• Live within the Mackenzie Fire Rescue response area;
• Be reasonably physically fit; and
• Be willing to participate in regular training and respond to emergencies when available.

No previous firefighting experience is required. Successful applicants will receive the training, equipment, and support needed to become members of Mackenzie Fire Rescue.

Applications must be submitted by September 20, 2026.
