Regional Defence Investment Initiative in British Columbia – Grant Funding
PacifiCan has recently launched the Regional Defence Investment Initiative (RDII). This initiative is designed to strengthen Canada’s defence capacity by investing in British Columbian businesses and organizations to support the development of defence capabilities.
The RDII aims to support projects that:
- Contribute to the capabilities of the Canadian Armed Forces as well as Canada’s allies and partners;
- Grow the production and innovation capacity of Canada’s defence and dual-use (i.e., with both military and civilian uses) industries;
- Integrate small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into domestic and international defence supply chains;
- Drive innovation in technology sectors with defence applications, including artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and cyber security; and
- Foster regional economic development.
PacifiCan is accepting applications until noon PST April 15, 2026 for projects seeking funding between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2028. RDII is open to both business and not-for-profits, but priority will be given to applications from companies at this time. Eligible recipients and project activities are outlined on the program website here.
PacifiCan will be offering a virtual session on March 18 from 9:00AM – 10:30AM PDT via MS Teams. This session will provide an opportunity to answer any questions that you may have about RDII.
