NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT pursuant to Section 464 of the Local Government Act, the District of Mackenzie is waiving the Public Hearing requirement for Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1435.

This bylaw proposes text amendments to the zoning bylaw to establish new housing type definitions that meet current trends and community needs outlined in the District of Mackenzie’s Housing Needs Assessment.

Section 464 of the Local Government Act allows local governments to consider waiving the public hearing requirement for zoning bylaws, if the bylaw aligns with the goals, objectives and policies of the communities Official Community Plan. Zoning Bylaw No.1435 aligns with the policies of Section 2.1 - Housing in the District’s Official Community Plan.

In consideration of this and to comply with public health orders and ensure public safety, Council has chosen to waive the Public Hearing requirement for Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1435.
