Open House – Official Community Plan Amendment

Attention Residents:

The District of Mackenzie will be hosting an open house session on Wednesday October 25th, 2023, between 5:00 – 7:00pm at the Mackenzie Recreation Centre (400 Skeena Drive). The purpose of the open house is to inform residents about a proposed amendment to the Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1304.

The District is looking to establish Development Permit Area’s (DPA’s) within the District of Mackenzie. Development Permit Area’s identify locations that need special treatment for certain purposes including the protection of development from hazards, establishing objectives for form and character in specified circumstances, or revitalization of a commercial use area. The DPA’s that have been drafted are an Environmental DPA as well as a Form and Character DPA.
