Northern Inter-Community Transportation Study
Northern Development Initiative Trust - Northern Inter-Community Transportation Study
Northern Development is seeking input from communities, organizations and residents from across Northern B.C. to better understand passenger transportation needs and opportunities. The study is focusing on the connections between Northern B.C. communities and in rural areas not served by existing public transportation.
About the Project
A range of inter-community travel options already exists in Northern B.C., including BC Bus North service and 18 community shuttle services already receive funding through the Northern Passenger Transportation Service funding program, administered by Northern Development.
Through the Northern Inter-Community Transportation Study now underway, NDIT is now looking for feedback on these existing transportation options, plus also gathering information on what additional transportation priorities should be considered.
The project also seeks to understand potential roles that area Indigenous and local governments and community organizations could play in future transportation improvements, with the goal of continuing to create a more prosperous and connected Northern B.C..
