Community Benefit Made Possible by IREN

This year, 12 members from the Mackenzie Fire Department completed a Pumps and Pumping course, led by Instructors from the Vancouver Island Emergency Response Academy.

Firefighters learned techniques to safely and effectively operate the pumps on our Fire Trucks, as well as how to ensure there is an adequate amount of water being supplied to the fire scene to protect our firefighters and extinguish the fire.

The District of Mackenzie is thankful to IREN for supporting this training through a grant of $10,000.00. Without this funding, our firefighters would not have been able to complete this valuable course.
