Mackenzie’s Own Evan Bichon Headed to the 2026 Winter Olympics

The District of Mackenzie is incredibly proud to congratulate local snowboard athlete, Evan Bichon, on being named to Team Canada for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Born and raised in Mackenzie and shaped by many days on the slopes of Powder King, Evan’s journey from local club programs to the Canadian National Snowboard Team is an inspiring example of dedication, perseverance, and community support. A two-time Canadian National Champion (2024 & 2025) and former Youth Olympic Games competitor, Evan now takes the next step in his career on the world’s biggest winter sport stage.

On behalf of Mayor and Council, staff, and the entire community, the District of Mackenzie extends its heartfelt congratulations to Evan. We are honoured that he calls Mackenzie home and we will be cheering him on as he represents Mackenzie, northern BC, and Canada at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
