Winter Visibility

As daylight fades, safety starts with visibility

Whether you are walking, running, biking, or driving, every action helps keep our community safe after dark.

For walkers, runners, and cyclists:

  • Wear bright colours or reflective clothing
  • Add lights or reflectors to bikes, strollers, and mobility aids
  • Walk facing traffic so you can see approaching vehicles
  • Stay alert and limit distractions

For drivers:

  • Stay alert and watch for movement at crosswalks and along rural shoulders
  • Use headlights wisely and dim for oncoming traffic or at intersections
  • Slow down at dusk and dawn when visibility drops
  • Expect the unexpected such as children and pets appearing suddenly
  • Stay focused and keep your eyes on the road

Let us all do our part to see and be seen on roads, day and night.
