Pride Flag Raised for Pride Month

This evening marked the first Pride Flag raising ceremony in Mackenzie. The Pride Flag was raised in front of the District Office and will be flown until June 30, 2024.

Raising the flag is in commemoration of Pride Month, which takes place in June every year. During this time, members of the Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Gender Diverse, and Intersex (2SLGBTQ+) communities come together to celebrate living their authentic lives, and to appreciate the important progress made towards realizing equity and understanding, alongside friends and allies.

As an organization, we intend to continue to show our support for the pride community and honour Pride Month annually going forward. We are enthusiastic to embark on the journey to better serve our vibrant and diverse community.
