Day of Mourning – April 28, 2024

Every year, on April 28, workers, families, employers, and others come together at events held around the province to remember those who have lost their lives on the job, and to renew our commitment to creating safer workplaces.

Deputy Mayor Amber Hipkiss will say a few words and be laying roses at Memorial Rock, just outside the District Municipal Office, at 11:00 am Sunday, April 28th in honour of the day. Residents are welcome to join us at Memorial Rock and lay flowers as well if they wish.

The Vancouver Day of Mourning Ceremony will be live streamed at 10:30 am Sunday on the Day of Mourning Website.
