2025 FireSmart Fuel Mitigation Project

The District of Mackenzie would like to inform residents of the 2025 FireSmart Fuel Mitigation Project, beginning on Thursday October 30th, 2025.

This important project focuses on reducing wildfire risk within and around our community by removing excess vegetation, thinning dense forested areas, and creating safer buffer zones near residential and public spaces. These proactive efforts help protect homes, critical infrastructure, and our beautiful natural surroundings.

Work will take place in designated areas around the District, which are identified in the attached map. Please watch for crews and equipment, follow posted signage, and keep clear of active work zones for everyone’s safety.
