2025 FireSmart Fuel Treatment Program Resumes

The District of Mackenzie has resumed the 2025 FireSmart Fuel Treatment Project. The contractor is anticipating to start work on the treatment unit near the Valleyview Apartments as soon as June 29th, 2026. During the following weeks, residents can expect to see equipment and personnel in the area conducting Wildfire Fuel Reduction work, and may experience some elevated noise during the daytime. This work is anticipated to last for a couple of weeks. Residents are asked to maintain a safe distance and avoid using the Azan Trail within the treatment area while crews are working for everyone's safety.
