Tsay Keh Dene Wildfire Situation

The District of Mackenzie has received the following update from our friends and partners at Tsay Keh Dene regarding the Wildfire situation.

Tsay Keh Dene is currently experiencing another remarkable wildfire season. Several wildfires are raging throughout the TKDN territory and threatening residences, values, and critical infrastructure. The Province is extremely constrained by a lack of resources and an unprecedented situation in our southern fire centres. As a result, the community has experienced extreme limitations when it comes to soliciting efforts on these fires.

The community has noted that there is a substantial absence in the amount of reporting and information sharing surrounding the fires in the north. In response, a website has been crafted with the intent of directly informing the Tsay Keh Dene community and surrounding area with better and more relevant wildfire information in a consolidated location. This website can be found here. It has been created to help to paint a more realistic picture of the wildfire situation and it is updated daily.
